Is it strange that of all the days in November today I took today off? Chris and I have been waiting for this day for the last two years. Chris has the week off, and judging by how short his temper has been lately he needs time to relax and unwind since he works so hard, for vacation. I woke up this morning excited, worried (the elections in 2000 and 2004 didn’t quite go the way I hoped), and a little bit reflective. Do you realize today the country is voting to start a new chapter come January? Every January 1st people throughout the country, and world, resolve to start fresh and this year with a new administration in the white house maybe our country will have a fresh start.

Chris and I voted last Wednesday on the way home from work. I’ve heard from co-workers that went and stood in line and voted during the lunch hour since early voting started two weeks ago. Early voting is long over and today is the day! This isn’t something you can put off until tomorrow or move farther down your to-do list voting is today. Today though if you haven’t voted yet then grab a book, some crochet or knitting if your crafty, a game, and go stand in line at your local precinct and Vote!

Today is Chris’s Saturday at work so I’m spending the day on some fall cleaning, studying, and spending time with the girls and Harry. My blackberry started chirping a few minutes ago and it looks like Chris is a little bored so while I was talking to him I thought I’d start my fall prep lists for the holidays. I was looking for a printable calendar link that I had last year that allows you to customize with your personal dates and came across this bubble calendar. I still have just enough kid in me to think that is one pretty fun looking calendar! I’m afraid my problem would be wanting to pop all the bubbles at the beginning of the month or 30 seconds after it came out of the box.

It’s been hot the past couple of days so last night we had cereal for dinner. I don’t know why but I just love eating breakfast food for dinner. We enjoy everything from egg burritos, pancakes, waffles, to biscuits and gravy some evenings.

These blueberry pancakes from smitten kitchen almost prompted pancakes for dinner last month. While recipezaar’s breakfast section can spark all kinds of ideas.

One of the most interesting looking breakfasts that I would love to learn how to make and it shouldn’t be to hard would be is the Egg in a Basket (also after several google searches it looks like it can also be referred to as an egg in a nest) that C and I spotted while watching V for Vendetta and a couple of other movies I can’t think of at the moment.

Growing up all I remember is watching reruns or my parents would catch a different program that we didn’t watch during the school year because it came on to late or we just weren’t interested when the program first premiered. These days when the regular programming season ends in May a whole new round of shows start over the course of the summer. Our favorites the past couple of seasons have been HGTV’s Design Star, Psych on USA, and Eureka on Sci-Fi. We also watch Ghost Hunters International but we seem to prefer the original that is on during the fall and winter.

It sounds a little crazy but I think part of my liking movies and tv so much is part of my time I spent in as part of the Speech team in junior high and High School we learned to watch people and learn to look for the underlying storyline and the other is I’ve been a tv nut for a very long time since I was a kid. Who knows in some alternate universe maybe I was suppose to be an actor or writer or something that draws me to the medium.
